GO Train from Cambridge to Guelph

The Region of Waterloo is asking for your help as it starts putting together its business case to bring all-day GO Train service to Cambridge.

The train would travel from Pinebush Road and Eagle Street, through Hespeler to Guelph.

Estimated travel time of only approximately 15 minutes!

Commuters would then be able to transfer onto the Kitchener line from the Guelph station and take it to Union station in Toronto or connect to Toronto airport!

When the LRT is built it will pass through the same Pinebush Station, allowing riders to utilize both services.

Regional planners are looking for feedback from the community and are asking residents to take part in a survey to offer ideas and opinions.

To initiate the survey just click on the button below to create a simple login account to the Engage Region of Waterloo web site and then take the survey.

The idea of a GO train to Milton from Cambridge is a non-starter. There will be increased interest and more ridership between Guelph and Cambridge rather than going directly to Toronto from Cambridge.

GO train to Guelph and LRT from Kitchener are independent projects and do not depend on each other.

The region has a good case to secure the funding needed to build the GO train to Guelph as Cambridge is the only urban municipality of over 100,000 residents in Ontario presently not served by passenger rail service.
